It gives us great pleasure to announce that your Provident Fund won the top Award for Large Funds in the category: Overall Communication Strategy. Further to this the Fund was recognised for excellence in the industry and received a Gold Standard Certificate for achieving a score higher than 75%. The Fund Chairman, Mr M Mabaso received the beautiful awards, at the IRFA’s Gala Dinner held at the ICC in Cape Town on 6 July 2015.
The Institute of Retirement Funds Africa (IRFA) is a non-political body which represents and promotes the interests of the retirement fund industry in SA, to the ultimate benefit of the members of retirement funds. The most important function of the IRF is to represent the retirement industry in negotiations with government authorities and the FSB, which would include commenting on legislation and tax matters affecting retirement funds/pensioners and all stakeholders.
In order to encourage retirement funds to communicate with their members, the IRFA instituted an annual communication competition to recognise and reward excellence in retirement fund communication. The competition was started in the late ’80s and since then the emphasis has moved from recognition of communication to rewarding funds for world-class communication efforts that empower members to truly understand the workings of their retirement fund.
The Fund is proud of this achievement and assure members of the Fund of the Board’s continued commitment to inform and educate you in all Fund related matters.
